The 250 PRO uses&nbsp;4mm-thick carbon fiber (CF)&nbsp;flat arms that are damn near unbreakable. There&#8217;s also a&nbsp;2mm-thick CF&nbsp;top plate and&nbsp;2mm-thick FR4 skid plates.<\/p>\n<p>All of this combines to make the 250 PRO <strong>far&nbsp;more&nbsp;crash-resistant than most other racing drones<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The 250 PRO is also <strong>a major&nbsp;upgrade from ImmersionRC&#8217;s popular Vortex 250 racer<\/strong> in several key ways. Some of the differences include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>More powerful 2204 motors<\/li>\n<li>20A ESCs<\/li>\n<li>New F3 flight controller<\/li>\n<li>2MB black box recorder<\/li>\n<li>Better&nbsp;rear LEDs (programmable)<\/li>\n<li>Included GoPro camera mount<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Fusion Flight Controller<\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1273 alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/bestdroneforthejob.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/Vortex-250-PRO-Fusion-Gen2-Flight-Controller.jpeg\" alt=\"Vortex 250 PRO - Fusion Gen2 Flight Controller\" width=\"330\" height=\"350\" srcset=\"https:\/\/bestdroneforthejob.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/Vortex-250-PRO-Fusion-Gen2-Flight-Controller.jpeg 330w, https:\/\/bestdroneforthejob.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/Vortex-250-PRO-Fusion-Gen2-Flight-Controller-47x50.jpeg 47w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 330px) 100vw, 330px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The ImmersionRC <strong>Fusion flight controller<\/strong> gets an extensive update for the Vortex 250 PRO.&nbsp;The F\/C processor is updated to an F3, and&nbsp;2MB of BlackBox log storage is now included.<\/p>\n<p>The new&nbsp;processor has twice the&nbsp;performance of the F1, enabling faster&nbsp;loop times and quicker&nbsp;flight performance. &nbsp;PIDs are now configurable via&nbsp;the on-screen display, using&nbsp;menus.<\/p>\n<p>One of the problems w\/ the F1-based unit was a weak lost drone alert. This one&nbsp;is MUCH louder.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, a&nbsp;port has been&nbsp;added for direct serial receiver hookup, with 5 volt and 3.3 volt supply choices.<\/p>\n<p>The Fusion Gen2 also comes&nbsp;with <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/cleanflight.com\/\">CleanFlight<\/a> <\/strong>pre-installed.<\/p>\n<h2>Video Transmitter<\/h2>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Ox8w25Nb1ZE\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><br \/>\nThe Vortex 250 PRO comes with an&nbsp;on-board <strong>NexWaveRF video transmitter<\/strong>&nbsp;that is <strong>compatible with&nbsp;any 5.8Ghz receiver<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dynamic Power Control<\/strong>, a new&nbsp;interference-reduction&nbsp;feature, has been added for the Vortex 250. &nbsp;Now, Tx power is reduced&nbsp;whenever the 250 PRO&nbsp;is disarmed or ready to start, which lowers&nbsp;the risk of radio interference with other pilots.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, the Vortex 250 PRO also comes with&nbsp;<strong>RaceBand<\/strong>, which lets&nbsp;8 pilots to fly together&nbsp;AND lets&nbsp;US resellers sell it legally. All RC channels are&nbsp;within legal US Ham radio bandwidth.<\/p>\n<p>The Vortex 250 PRO comes with an&nbsp;on-board <strong>on-screen display<\/strong> that&nbsp;lets you <strong>choose Video channels directly on the RC transmitter<\/strong>. You can also&nbsp;leave the GoPro batteries at home, because a 3A switch regulator is provided that lets you <strong>run your GoPro&nbsp;off the flight battery pack<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2>Pro Tunes Come Standard<\/h2>\n<p>Like the Vortex 285, the Vortex 250 PRO&nbsp;is shipped with a&nbsp;rock-solid professional tune installed. It also comes with&nbsp;a selection of other pro tunes created&nbsp;by experts in Racing Drone world.<\/p>\n<h2>Programmable&nbsp;LED Light Bank<\/h2>\n<p>Eight&nbsp;24-bit LEDs are now located on the back end. They are controlled by a dedicated 32-bit ARM processor, and&nbsp;you can use them to display whatever you want, using the&nbsp;user-upgradable firmware.<\/p>\n<h2>Custom ESCs<\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1274\" src=\"https:\/\/bestdroneforthejob.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/Vortex-250-PRO-power-unit-closeup.jpeg\" alt=\"Vortex 250 PRO - power unit closeup\" width=\"737\" height=\"450\" srcset=\"https:\/\/bestdroneforthejob.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/Vortex-250-PRO-power-unit-closeup.jpeg 737w, https:\/\/bestdroneforthejob.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/Vortex-250-PRO-power-unit-closeup-510x311.jpeg 510w, https:\/\/bestdroneforthejob.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/Vortex-250-PRO-power-unit-closeup-50x31.jpeg 50w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 737px) 100vw, 737px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The Vortex 250 PRO comes with 4 custom 20A ESCs (22A Peak) equipped&nbsp;with OneShot125 and regenerative braking.<\/p>\n<p>There is a dedicated 32-bit ARM processor for&nbsp;each ESC, so you&#8217;ll never be short of processing power to deal with&nbsp;hairy&nbsp;brushless motors.<\/p>\n<p>The ESCs come with the second generation of ImmersionRC\u2019s <strong>EzESC<\/strong> and&nbsp;support <strong>rotorSENSE<\/strong>, which eliminates the need to swap motor wires when adjusting&nbsp;prop direction.<\/p>\n<h2>Dedicated&nbsp;ARM Processors<\/h2>\n<p>There are 7 ARM processors on board the Vortex 250 PRO.<\/p>\n<p>Each of the 4 ESCs gets its own 32-bit ARM unit, plus&nbsp;one&nbsp;for the flight controller, one&nbsp;for the on screen display, and&nbsp;one&nbsp;for the LED board.<\/p>\n<h2>2MB Blackbox Recorder<\/h2>\n<p>Included with the Vortex 250 PRO&nbsp;is a&nbsp;high speed BB recorder that captures&nbsp;flight controller data, which really helps with&nbsp;pro-tuning. The data&nbsp;is stored in an integrated 2MB flash memory on the Gen2 board.
